Matt and Kayla have become regular customers of mine. I took their engagement photos, family photos more than once, their wedding photos, and now that Karter has joined the family it was time to update their family portraits. Needless to say I was thrilled when Kayla asked me to take them too.

And I love this one. At first I was not sure what Kayla was working toward when she sat this photo up but once I saw it I thought it was great.

I love using this white background because of the reflections you can see in the floor. It was hard to learn this technique but the more I use it the more I love it.

And I also love my black background. It is simple but it really makes the subjects stand out.

You can't see any wrinkles or or anything else other than the beautiful people I am taking portraits for.

Thanks guys for asking me to take your family portraits and I hope to see you guys again soon.
Family photos can be taken anywhere the weather allows, indoors when it is windy or outdoors when the weather is better. Julie wanted some family photos but the wind kept us inside most of the afternoon. But indoor portraits can be great too.

And sometimes families will want studio photos. And I can offer those too.

Cassie had heard about me though some of the other staff members at Royster Middle School in Chanute so she decided to send me an e-mail asking if I could take her family portraits.
I am so glad she did.
Her little girls acted just like little girls should on a warm fall day. They had fun.

And Joe and Cassie were fun to be around.

You can almost hear her laughing just by looking at this picture.

And I made a few collages of these photos. These are just some ideas that I had and Joe and Cassie will be free to select the photos they would like to have in their collages.

Thanks guys for asking me to take your fall family portraits. I should have your printed proofs by the end of the week.
This is the second time the Tinklers have asked me to take their family portraits. Not bad since I have only been in "business" for about 3 years now but who is counting.

And we wanted to take some photos of just Darrah and her mom.

And Darrah and her dad.

And then some of Tom and Melissa.

And some of just Darrah.

Thanks again guys and I am looking forward to taking Darrah's Seniors next year.
If it has been a while since you have had your Family Portraits taken then it is time to book a Family Portrait shoot with me. My rates are listed under Portrait Photography Rates.

It has been a busy spring.
A couple of years ago Sam booked with me for a family portrait shoot. Her family was the first family I did a shoot on. I was honored when she told me that she wanted me to take their portraits again.

And Zoey and Abby are a couple of neat girls. They are fun to be around and are comfortable in front of the camera.

Thanks guys and I hope we can do it again soon.
Sandy knew I had a camera and she had heard I was doing some photography but later she told me she had no idea I was doing as much as I was. Her granddaughters were going to be in town for the weekend and she wanted photos of them.

We had this young lady setting on this tire swing and she was yelling at me to take the picture. I told her to wait a second because I wanted to make a camera setting change. Then she really yelled, just take the picture. I did not know how close she was to falling off the swing.

We laughed about that the rest of the night.

And this young lady was telling me about a black dress she had with her. Sandy had purchased it for her and she seemed to really like it. I told her to go change in to it. I am glad she did. I think she looks beautiful.

Thanks guys and I look forward to seeing you again.
Alicia called and told me that Amanda and Brian, and Bri, were going to be in town for the weekend and they were looking for family portraits. I had already worked for Alicia so I was excited when she called, I love a return customer.
Brian is in the military and they are house shopping and they are looking forward to settling down in Humboldt.

And even through Bri is young we were able to get some nice shots of him.

Thanks guys and I look forward to your coming back to Humboldt to make a new home for yourselves.
Marilyn wanted some photos of her grandchildren and I was thrilled she called. She had seen my work before and she wanted me to take these portraits.

And Marilyn wanted to include her horse in the photo shoot.

Thanks guys. I think everything went very well.
Jill called and asked for some photos of her son Henry playing in the park.

And I made a nice collage of some of these photos.

I attended the Veteran’s Day ceremonies at Humboldt and while there Audrey Johnson approached me about taking her family portraits. We talked a while and decided we could work it in our schedule.

Audrey said there were at least 4 individual families and that she wanted a group shot of all of her kids and grandkids.

I asked how many would be in the final shot and she said over 20.
And I think the photo looks great. Audrey was right, the barn did make a great background.
Thanks guys.
When I first began to take photos for other people all I was interested in was sports photography. Kayla was a Senior on the Lady Cubs softball team that year and I remember taking photos of her. Needless to say I was very pleased when she called and asked if I would be interested in taking family photos for her and Matt and his family.

It was a cold day but Kayla had everything ready to go when I arrived at the location. I think she did a great job setting up the backgrounds and she kept things moving.

Every time we moved to a new location I could see why they wanted their portraits taken there. They all worked and in my opinion they worked quite well.

When they lead me away from the pond we were walking through some thin brush. I had to wonder where we were going but then as we cleared the brush I looked up and saw this family standing in this tall grass. I knew the photos taken there would turn out great, and I think they did.

Thanks guys I really enjoyed it.
Amanda and I traded e-mails earlier this fall and she was looking for a family shoot. She mentioned that it would involve her family.

And her inlaws.

And more inlaws.

And the whole family.

And the kids.

It was a nice fall day and a really nice location. I may have to ask if I can use it again. Thanks Amanda for asking me to take your family's portraits. I think they turned out quite well.
Amber e-mailed me and asked for a shoot. Amber and Dustin wanted photos of themselves together.

And with the kids.

And of the kids just playing around at the park.

Thanks guys, it was a great day and I think we were able to get some neat photos.
This was the largest family shoot I had ever done but I think it turned out very well.

The Tinkler's said it had been almost 7 years since their last family portraits were taken.

Delbert was interested in a Family Portrait shoot because his family was all going to be together for Thanksgiving.

And we took some photos of Delbert for his webpage.

This young man knew exactly how he wanted to pose himself and his girl. Then he asked if I could take the shot in black and white. I explained that I could but I prefered color and then converting the color shot to black and white in Photoshop. He said he prefered to see the shot that day on my camera in black and white so I took it.

Then they posed for a more traditional portrait. I converted it to black and white and then I put these images together in one black and white collage.

There were a couple of warm days during the week of Thanksgiving and the Wolfes' were glad the weather was nice for their November Family Portrait Shoot.

Thanks to these families for letting me take their Portraits and if I can help you with your Family Portraits then please give me a call at 473-3786 or e-mail me at myerphotography@cox.net
